Rabbi Richard Glass is a character on 7th Heaven, played by the always hilarious Richard Lewis.
Richard is the father of Matt's wife Sarah and the Rabbi of the Glenoak synagogue.
He hates Matt at first, but getting to know hi and he is a good guy. Mostly he wants his daughter marry a Jewish boy. Mostly the reason why he gives Matt a hard time beginning, he has trouble letting go of his daughter who was the right person for Matt. He was like Steve Martin character in father of the bride aka George Banks.
