Eric accidentally finds the letter leading him to think Matt and Heather got married over the summer, which worries him, Annie, and Heather's mom. Meanwhile, Eric can't resist spying on both of his sons, and thus falls into a trap. Elsewhere, Wilson won't say 'I love you' back to Mary, who refuses to understand he'll only say that again when even more serious than with Billy's late mother and thinks it's a big commitment. And finally, Annie and Eric try to help Lucy's classmate from school, Laurie, is extremely timid due to her verbally brutal mother, but the scolding root sits deeper.
