Synopsis[]
It's Christmas time and Eric has arranged for his three oldest children to do some charity work in the community, much to their dismay. Back at home, Simon is reluctant to part with his favorite pair of Christmas pajamas, despite having outgrown them. The family is concerned that Ruthie has discovered the truth about Santa Claus, while Mary befriends a homeless young man at the soup kitchen and invites him back to the house. Meanwhile, Lucy is in charge of organizing auditions for the "Live Nativity" at the church. Eric has also given Matt a job as Santa Claus at the mall, which pays quite well.
Notes[]
- This is the first appearance of Carlos Ponce who plays a recurring star of Mary's husband Carlos in the eighth season.
- Tim Conway guest stars in this episode as Rocky and Santa Claus.
Trivia[]
- Mary meets her future husband Carlos Rivera (Carlos Ponce) in this episode. We found out in season 8 that they meet up again in New York and got married. They were also expecting a baby together.
- This is the first Christmas episode that 7th Heaven has had since the series began in 1996. There will be two more Christmas episodes, one in season 10 and another in season 11.
- David Gallagher (Simon Camden) said in an interview that he felt very uncomfortable wearing the tight candy-cane pajamas in this episode.
- There is a reference to the short story "The Gift of the Magi" where Eric sells his records to buy a chain for Annie's cross, which she has sold to buy a jukebox for Eric's records.
- The spoiled girl that originally owned Happy before the Camden's got her from the pound is the same girl that sits on Santa's lap and kicks him in the shin when Matt can't remember what she wants for Christmas.
