Synopsis[]
In the first-season finale, the whole family awaits for Mary to come out of surgery after she gets hit by a car in the last episode. Wilson tells Eric that Billy is his son, unplanned but not unwanted, whose teenage mother died giving birth to the child, which his parents help him raise. Meanwhile, Dating privileges are maintained 'for observation'. Michael Towner bravely owes up being the one who accidentally hit Mary when she dashed after Annie, who realizes she's the guilty one but only tells off Matt's overprotective vindictiveness. Elsewhere, sign language in a deaf-run restaurant helps Matt patch up with Heather. Also, Jimmy Moon dumps Lucy on account of her dyed blonde hair and he's turned off by it. To continue, Charles Jackson nearly lost hope Annie would turn round and Ginger imposed 'a break' but both women come to their senses after Mrs. Binks gives Annie some helpful advice. And finally, the episode ends with Mary being released from the hospital and having a welcome home party back at the house but we soon learn that recovery up to basketball level is far from certain.
Notes[]
- Final episode for the 1st season of 7th Heaven.
- Mrs. Binks (Eileen Brennan) guest stars in this episode.
Trivia[]
- Barry Watson (Matt Camden) does the voiceover for the introduction, "Last time on 7th Heaven" when the episode begins.
- Annie references episode 17 where she mentions if the big surprise will be "like ferrets in the house or a big surprise like a beautiful picture that you drew at school?". In that episode, Simon and Ruthie secretly buys ferrets and sneak them into the house.
Goofs & Errors[]
- When we see Mary laying on the stretcher, her hair is in a bun. However, when she was hit by a car at the end of the previous episode, "Dangerous Liaisons (Part 1)", her hair is loose.
- When Wilson asks the lady at the front hospital desk for an update on Mary's surgery, the woman says that this information is available only to family members. Wilson lies and says he's her brother, and the woman immediately forks over the information. In reality, they would want a little more verification than that before giving out an update on a patient.
